Meet The Team

  1. Amy Fischer, EA, LTC
    Owner, Tax Accountant Amy is the owner and founder of Expert Business Support. She has been preparing taxes and has worked as an accountant since early 2000. She started at her father’s firm in Idaho; quickly earning a partnership with him, and successfully running the Idaho office. In 2009 she moved to Oregon to start earning her degree in Sign Language Interpreting. During her college time, she became licensed in Oregon as a tax preparer (LTP) and then took the exams to become an Enrolled Agent (EA) licensed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. Shortly after receiving her EA license she became a Licensed Tax Consultant (LTC) in Oregon. She actively participates in the company and enjoys assisting individuals and companies with all of their tax and business needs. Amy also loves to travel and spend time with her family. She has two children, one boy and one girl. She is fluent in American Sign Language, and enjoys learning new languages, and about other cultures.
  2. Nicole Dornan
    Bookkeeper Nicole was born in Iowa and moved to Oregon when she was 3 years old. She attend school in Hillsboro and because of her love for math she later attended Portland State University where in 2016 she received her Bachelors of Science in Accounting. In her free time Nicole is a Lularoe Consultant and enjoys spending time with her husband, mom and 3 daughters. Together they love to be outdoors, exercise, watch movies and work on projects around the house.
  3. Patrick "MrShineyhead" Fischer
    Co-owner, Production Manager Patrick is an artist who earned his degree in graphic design. He is an award winning designer and has worked with companies such as Nike, Disney, Mitsubishi and more. Patrick established his own design company in 1991 that supported both the Deaf and hearing communities through American Sign Language and continues to do so with Expert Business Support. Patrick enjoys challenges and is able to assist companies change as updates to their logos and websites happen. Patrick is also a performer and teaches workshops all across the US and is a Deaf Language Model (DLM), Director of Artistic Sign Language (DASL), American Sign Language Teachers Association Master Certification (ASLTA Master), as well as a Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI). He is constantly learning about new cultures and is learning International Sign, as well as other countries sign languages. He is an avid runner; and loves to travel. He has two children and enjoys family time and family vacations.
  4. Richard Hogg
    Registered Investment Adviser After selling a successful vending business in Pennsylvania, a business he built from the ground up, at the age of 34 Richard started his financial services career with New York Life out of the Bethesda, Maryland office in 1991. He later moved back to his home town of Caldwell, Idaho where he currently lives, and joined the Beneficial Life team working out of the Boise, Idaho office. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Boise State University while working for Beneficial Life. Since that time he has worked with several major Insurance and Investment firms, and now owns and operates an independent Insurance and Investment services firm called Linden Financial Group. In 1996 Richard was awarded the “New Agent of the Year” award from Beneficial Life, and for the following three consecutive years was recognized as one of Beneficial Life's top producers. During his years working with Beneficial Life, Richard traveled extensively doing Financial and Estate Planning seminars in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. Richard brings many years of “hands on” experience to the Expert Business Support team in regards to Investing, Retirement Planning, Estate Planning, Life Insurance & Annuities. Richard loves spending time with his family, but his second love is writing music, as well as singing and playing in a local Rock Band.
  5. William "Bill" Hurst, EA
    Tax Accountant Bill was born and raised in Caldwell Idaho, where he currently resides with his wife of 37 years; here they raised their five children. He went to College of Idaho earning is Bachelor of Science degree from the University of The State of New York, with a double major in Biology and Accounting. Bill started his firm preparing taxes and accounting in 1981, earning his Enrolled Agent license shortly after the start of his practice. He was one of the first preparers in the Boise area doing tax returns with the aid of computer and software; but still enjoys preparing taxes with paper and pencil. In 2007 Bill was elected Canyon County Clerk-Auditor and severed 4 years for the county. Where he made many new and old connections with the canyon county community. He has been featured in articles in local news papers, as guest advise and tax season ending suggestions. He is a go to person for accurate tax questions and needed advice. Bill is an avid fisherman taking as frequent trips to various lakes and rivers to cast a reel.
  6. Greg Hairfield
    Office Assistant Greg recently move to Oregon with his wife. He is a college student working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering, currently attending Portland Community College. Greg’s plan is to attend Portland State University to complete his degree. This is Greg’s second career path, previously he worked as an office manager. Greg and his wife have two Boston Terriers and enjoy hiking, cooking and relaxing with a book.
  7. Kerry Duffy, LTC
    Tax Accountant Kerry was born and raised in Beaverton, OR before heading to the east coast for four years of college at Georgetown University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Humanities and International Affairs degree, she returned to Oregon and began working full-time for the non-profit Oregon Amateur Sports Foundation (OASF). The organization combined two of Kerry’s greatest passions: sports and helping others. She is responsible for marketing, events, administration and fundraising for the OASF and enjoys the challenges of running a small non-profit organization. In 2011, Kerry started helping her aunt with her tax practice in the evenings and on weekends. Initially, she would assemble returns, maintained client files and assisted with data entry. Her role continued to grow and in 2014 she became a Licensed Tax Preparer with the state of Oregon. The following summer she passed the exam to become a Licensed Tax Consultant. Her favorite part of her job is breaking down tax returns so her clients understand what all those numbers mean and suggesting ways to reduce tax liabilities. Kerry is excited to be joining Expert Business Support to continue to help returning clients and meet new clients.
  8. Jim Larrance, LTP
    Tax Accountant Jim Larrance has been a bookkeeper since 1990, and a tax prep since 2014. He's worked in retail, corporate and non-profits. He likes bookkeeping because he gets to work little puzzles with numbers, and get paid for it. He's lived in the Portland area since 1955.
